Bitcoins and Bubbles

An informative and knowledge-enriching guest lecture was organised on the 14 th of August, 2018 by Economica, headed by Mrs. Anita Hamand in collaboration with the Economics department lead by Dr. Prakash Salvi in D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science and Commerce. Dr. Indradeep Ghosh, the speaker, is the Dean and an Associate Professor at Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics. He has published research papers across various national and international journals. He has a rich teaching experience in an array of subjects related to Economics. The purpose of the lecture was to introduce complicated topics of Bubbles and Bitcoins in a more simplified and easily comprehensible way so that it can be understood by students from all streams. The seminar commenced with a brief introduction of Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics and the courses offered there, by Dr. Indradeep Ghosh himself, followed by a small opening speech by a SYBA student and bestowal of a bouquet as a toke

'We Speak' with Ms. Manali Pathak

On August 4 th , 2018,   an insightful guest lecture was organised by Economica : The department of Economics, D. G. Ruparel College. It was our honour to host the extremely inspiring and admirable, alumna of St. Xavier’s College (Mumbai) and London School of Economics - Ms. Manali Pathak. Ms. Pathak has written multiple Research papers in the fields of Economics and Research Analysis, and is currently working as a Research Associate under the RBI Chair in Political Economy with the Director of Mumbai University. The event started with a warm welcoming speech and an elaborate introduction to our Chief Guest; followed by a bouquet presentation by the HOD of the Economics department, Dr. Prakash Salvi; and the Chairperson of Economica, Mrs. Anita Hamand. The aim of the talk was to educate students about London School of Economics- its admission processes and eligibility criteria. Ms. Pathak first gave us a brief history of her early education. She chose Economics, Mathematics and
