Unveiling the Economic Impact of Ram Mandir Inauguration.

The most auspicious moment awaited by all the religious followers all across the globe was on 22nd January 2024. The temple’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony was graced with the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Shree Narendra Modi as well as many more Icons of India. The temple holds immense cultural and historical importance, and its construction fosters a sense of unity and shared heritage among diverse communities.
The Temple of Justice through which 500 years of exile of Lord Shri Ram came to an end. The never ending Babri Masjid and Ayodhya Ram Mandir issues which led to Hindu Muslim riots was settled through Supreme Court and as per court verdict Ayodhya Ram Mandir got constructed on the disputed land of Ayodhya whereas it directed the State to grant the Sunni Waqf Board five acres in a “prominent” location in Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque.

The Inauguration of the Ram Mandir have caught interest of the investors and businessmen all around the world to invest in upcoming growth of the Ayodhya city. Various sectors are to be benefitted from the tourism and devotion of the people.

A Multiplier effect will be seen after the makeover of Ayodhya. There will be seen rapid climbing in the infrastructure to accommodate thousands of devotees in Ayodhya. The Airport of Ayodhya will be open to the domestic as well as to the foreign devotees and it has been estimated to hold about 6 million passengers. Chopper services will also be available from 6 districts. Direct trains as well as buses have been planned to start as soon as possible in order to make travelling cheaper and easier for domestic devotees. E-buses and e-carts have been planned for travelling around the city. For private vehicles, parking spaces have been provided around the temple.
Many recreational spots such as Raja Dashrath Samadhi Sthal, Chakra Harji Vishnu Tample, Tulsi Udyan, Ram ki Paidi, etc will welcome the tourists. The UP government completed various restoration and development projects worth ₹105.65 crore to enhance the beauty of Ram Ki Paidi, giving it a new and grand form. The UP government built the country’s largest floating screen at Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghat. It was to be installed at Aarti Ghat to show the Pran Pratishtha and related programmes. There has been active participation of locals in providing homestay experiences to the visitors. At present Ayodhya has around 17 hotels with 590 rooms. Up to 73 new hotels are in the pipeline, of which 40 are already under construction. While Indian Hotels, Marriott and Wyndham have already signed deals for hotels, ITC is exploring opportunities in Ayodhya. Oyo plans to add 1,000 hotel rooms in Ayodhya. The city will be looked upon as religious place as well as luxurious city.Various surrounding areas will see a handsome migration adding up to economic development of state and hence India. Real estate will spirt, resulting surrounding area of up to 50 km in radius will get facelift (pocket friendly homes and tourist utilities), gifts and souvenir will be a major attraction for tourist to carry back gifts and memories. A special care will be taken for water and sanitation facilities in all places in Ayodhya. Continuous water supply will be provided to all the households from Februaury. There will be seen an increase in appetite of the city in energy sector with thrust of solar energy as well as wind energy. Ayodhya is being developed into a solar city to reduce dependence on electricity. The energy used in Ayodhya will become 5 time the current usage in the city.

The growth of small businesses will shoot up as soon as the tourism increases. Many job opportunities will be available for the locals such as tourist guides for guiding the tourists about the history and beliefs about the place to gain knowledge, various cuisines restaurants to make the foreign guests feel welcome, traditional cuisine restaurants to make the tourists aware about the culture. Production of Handicraft items will rise the level of employment as well as the cultural value. Many hospitals, police administrations will setup to run the city effectively. 

The most profit earned will be from the foreign money exchange. The anticipated tourism, UP will generate about Rs 4 lakh crore revenue this year. This religious tourism will create maore employment opportunities as well as revenue every year. The tax collection is also expected to reach heights this year with the approximate value of Rs 5000 crores.

Ram Mandir is going to be the most visited religious place this year with the approximate number of devotees around 5 crores. It is likely to surpass the Vatican City as well as the Mecca in terms of number of visitors. 

Ayodhya is expected to attract around five crore devotees annually, making it a major tourism destination not only within UP but also in India. Over lakhs of devotees are expected to visit Ayodhya daily and the number could go up to three lakh a day as well. If each person spends around Rs 2,500 during the visit, the economy of Ayodhya would be up by Rs 25,000 crore. Ayodhya will be a well built and a planned city to make the devotees experience the devotion towards Lord Ram as well as to enjoy luxury creating income and employment for the locals.
