Arthotsav 2k17 : DAY 3

Arthotsav's final day was marked by smiles, laughter, and tears of joy.

Day 3 of Arthotsav started with zealous preparations for the first event. Eagerness was thick in the air as all volunteers, head of departments and even the teachers were excited to welcome our chief guest, Mr. Himanshu Mishra.
Mr. Himanshu Mishra, Vice President of Finopaytech graced our event with his presence as the chief guest and judge for today's event.
The event DeMon, as the name suggests, was based on the recent Demonitisation scheme. The first round of this event was a game of Charades where each team member was given 10 words to describe in a time span of four minutes. Whispers of word guesses like digitisation, radiator, debentures and sweep account etc., were heard.
Five out of nine teams made it to round two. Round two was a case study round where the participants' imagination and application of their knowledge of economics was tested in a fun and interactive way. Our judge, Mr. Himanshu Mishra provided each team with a case study of how demonitisation positively or negatively affected any industry. Each team had to come up with a proposal providing solutions for it. 20 minutes later each proposal was discussed at length and cross questioned from other teams, people from the audience and the judge himself. This was done with the aim of evaluating each team's preparedness.
Round three was a group discussion event where Mr. Himanshu put forward a topic relevant to the current scenario. "23 new bank licenses have been granted in the past two years, leading to the opening of 23 new banks. What was the need to do so?" Everyone was given preparation time to research on the topic. The group discussion was a success and each team came up with strong justifications that helped them understand and learn a lot. Even the chief guest enlightened us with a very experienced and intelligent view on the topic.

The amazing day ended with an equally amazing closing ceremony. The closing ceremony started with enlightening speeches from our chief guest, Mr. Himanshu Mishra and The head of the economics department, Dr. Prakash Salvi. The best college trophy was won by Hinduja college and other colleges won certificates for winning specific events.

We also surprised our seniors with an impromptu farewell. Many were moved to tears, and their advice and encouragement to us motivated us to make Arthotsav an even greater success in the following years.

Thank you to everyone who participated; CONGRATULATIONS Hinduja (you guys were awesome); yes, we did have a trophy HR; and everyone, do come back next year!
