Arthotsav 2k17 : DAY 1

Arthotsav is back, y'all!

Arthotsav finally began today with a speech by none other than Dr. Ajit Ranade, from the Aditya Birla group and beloved columnist (Saturdays) in Mumbai Mirror. Dr. Ranade graced the dias by reminding the audience that:

>They have a long life ahead of them, and must be patient for things to come to them
>The two most important skills to cultivate are Analysis and Articulation
>Nothing a person learns can be a waste of time.

We then proceeded to the first event of the festival, namely The Wolf Of Dalal Street. The Psychology class next door seemed visibly perturbed at the commotion caused by our participants and volunteers in the Arts Building. The ruckus seemed endless as participants haggled over prices, buying and selling and checking updated prices anxiously.

The next event was Pitch it Perfect, in which participants enacted advertisements for quirky products such as a detergent that dyed clothes green! It brought out participants' innovative sides, and many of their performances were filled with humour and creativity.

Arthotsav Day 1 ended with A Game of Fire and Ice, for which 7 out of 21 teams qualified to compete with each other as they tried to reach no. 50 together, sharing points with strangers along the way. Many began as total strangers and ended up as friends. It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day.

Stay tuned for Day 2, winners of these events will be announced soon!
