Arthotsav Diaries, DAY 2
14.02.2020
New day, new memories!
All the volunteers commenced their day with complete enthusiasm and excitement, with an aim to make this very second day of Arthotsav a huge success. The exhilaration and eagerness of volunteers increased as the very first event of the day, i.e "MISSION DIPLOMACY- THE ROGUE TRADER" created and hosted by Sharwaree Ghaisas and Sakina Halvadwala began. With all participants geared up for the event, they got briefed about the event. The participants worked hard for their elimination round which consisted of finding words from the books they were given. All they got were the hints to the page number, line and number of word. With these hints, the participants were told to find that word which all these hints led to. Ten teams showcased their excellence and cleared the elimination round. The first round of the event began with these teams being categorised as five Eastern companies and five Western countries. All the companies were briefed to deal with atleast three countries with seven minimum deals. The interesting feature among allall deals was the manufacturing deal which was made by spinning the bottle and rolling the die. Amidst all the deals was a peculiar deal which was the first preference deal, which involved participation of a company and country, thus proving each of their respective first preference. All of the teams were given 45 minutes to complete their task. Then the margin and profit of each team was calculated and top two teams were qualified for the final round. The final round consisted of those two qualified teams to bid in eleven different sectors of the country, both profit and non-profit making sectors. At the end, the one team who had the maximum reserve points won.The event heads put up a great job in conducting the entire event. These event heads were the real rogue traders who made their event achieve zeal.

The next event, "THE FAULT IN OUR STOCKS" by Bhairavi Yadav and Jasleen Kaur became a game changer. Contrary to what the name says, it was a no-fault event and added up to the energy of both, the participants and the volunteers during the day. The elimination round consisted of filling up answers to five questions on a sheet of paper consumingthe least amount of time. Sixteen teams qualified this round and went on to participate for the very fist round of the event. Two teams were given one commodity to share among themselves. The participants were challenged for their presentation skills to enter the final round. They had to present their commodity in the most attractive and eye-snatching way. Out of the two teams who shared the same commodity, the best was selected and as a result, eight teams qualified for the final round. The final round was the most interesting part of the event. The teams who has excellently presented their commodity had to then challenge their advertising skills and sell that very product to people throughout the campus. The one who was able to sell the commodity at the highest price, won the the event by earning the highest supernormal profit.

The last but not definitely not the least event of the day was 'THE SOUVENIR SAGA' hosted by Mrunmayee Damle and Aishwarya Ahire. A treasure hunt that covered almost the entirety of Dadar, Matunga and Mahim's most iconic landmarks. First was the elimination round that was chaotic in the most wonderful meaning of the word. The participants were rushing to finish with their answers, grab the clue and get going! It led to some pretty hilarious outcomes and unforgettable incidents. As the participants scoured the roads of Dadar trying to guess the spot the clues led to, the volunteers stationed at the checkpoints kept them on their feet with fun little tasks and challenges. The participants had to put their wits to the use and buy the souvenirs through currency-rate conversion and and accommodate them in their budget as the prices fluctuated through the course of the game. After all the running and multi-tasking, the first participant to walk through the gates of the college, having all their souvenirs, properly bought and kept, won the event.
After this the team celebrated the birthdays of two of the volunteers, Bhakti and Vaibhav, singing for them snd celebrating in glee.
And thus, the second day of Arthotsav came to a successful and joyous close.
