Arthotsav '19 Diaries: Day 3

Day 3 of Arthotsav, initiated with the guest lecture. We were honoured to have Mr. Rajneesh K. Jha, SBA, LIC of India (Mumbai), as the chief guest for the day. He gave a speech related to Financial Planning and Wealth management. His monologue was nothing short of motivating and thought-provoking. His insights on how a person should handle his/her own finances during the course of their life, job and after retirement were enlightening. He ends with the ever-inspiring quote, “Dream big and achieve what you dream”. After the guest lecture, the team of Arthotsav clicks a group photograph with Mr. Rajneesh Jha.

Shortly after, the mega event of Arthotsav begins. The Mega Event was named ‛Retrospectrum’, this year. Various founder economists and one of their theories were given to each team. The winners of the previous events were participating in this event. 6 teams were presenting their presentations on their given economist theories. The economists per team were as follows:
Team 1- David Ricardo-Comparative Advantage
Team 2- J M Keynes- Growth Theory
Team 3- Dr. Herbert Alexander Simon- Bounded Rationality theory
Team 4- J M Keynes- Animal Spirits theory
Team 5- Joseph Schumpeter- Theory of Innovation
Team 6- Joseph Bertrand- Duopoly Model

Participants put forward their best presentations and had a conversation with the audience. The judges asked them some questions which they answered instinctively and with exceptional creativity. The rather challenging event was spent wonderfully.

After lunch, the closing ceremony of Arthotsav, 2019 started. The prizes for the winners of all the events were distributed amongst high roars of applause and cheering. There after, a farewell speech was given by the Head of Economics Department, Dr. Prakash Salvi sir. Then, a farewell was given to the TY students by the junior volunteers. Sentimental speeches, their memories and journeys of Arthotsav towards success, were made visible by their tearful eyes.

The Day 3 of Arthotsav ended with great gratitude to all the teams working enthusiastically for the fest. The Festival of Arthotsav, finally, concluded with volunteers merry meet and loud cheers to the college the success of ARTHOTSAV.
